All the fossicking areas
set aside by DNR-Mines for visitors are easily accessable in
conventional vehicles. You can go to Reward, Middle Ridge, Washpool,
Glen Alva or Graves Hill to try your luck. These require a fossicking
licence which is currently $12.80 for a couple and $8.80for an
Individual for one month. Fossicking gear is also available in
Rubyvale, for a small charge.
Should you prefer to be
less physical/adventurous, try a bucket of wash, (gravel) from
a Fossicking Park, where you do not require a licence, and they
have all the equipment set up for your use and at the price of
one bucket $8.10... good value, or you can join a tag-a-long
tour. There is a day long Safari Sightseeing and Digging Tour.
See and do everything in one day.
There are underground mines
(no ladders), for guided tours and lots of shops to brouse. Within
300m of Bedford Gardens there is a supermarket, newsagency, post
office, hotel and cafes.
